My sister stayed here for many years up until her last day. She had a lot of personality and could be hard to deal with. There were a few people who went above and beyond for her that she loved. Every time I came to visit, she told me all about her friend Jenny. The first time I met Jenny, I came down to visit my sister and they were hanging out in her room watching the Golden Girls. I had not seen happiness like that on my sister’s face with anyone other than her family in a very long time. Knowing my sister was happy brought me so much relief. She had someone who loved her as much as I did, more than someone who gets paid to take care of her. This was a real love on both ends. Having Jenny be able to be with my sister for a few years and then the last few days of her life will forever hold a special place in my heart. Knowing my sister was loved up until her last breath is more than I could ask for from anyone. She truly does not know how special of a human she is and how lucky Willamette Springs is to have that kind of human taking care of their residents.
